• Highlights: Rain, crossing at the Wye, swimming at the Wye

• Route: Goldmine Trail (1.0) to Cooper Rd Trail (1.8) to Hatcher Mtn Trail (2.6) to Little Bottoms Trail (2.3) to Abrams Creek Ranger Station (1.2).
  
• Total Mileage: 8.9 miles
  
• Wildlife: 2 black bears, one on Cooper Rd near the Cane Creek Trail Jct, one about 150 yards past the second on Cooper Rd. We followed #2 down the trail about 200 yards before it veered off the trail and down the mountain
  
• Highlights: Bears, catching a ride back to Top of the World

Twentymile Trail to Wolf Ridge Trail to Twentymile Loop Trail to Twentymile Trail

 

• Route: Twentymile Trail to Wolf Ridge Trail to Twentymile Loop Trail to Twentymile Trail
  
• Total Mileage: 7.6 miles
  
• Time Table: on the trail at 8, to Wolf Ridge Trail by 9, end of 20 mile loop trail by 10:10, break till 10:25, back to the car by 11:30.
  
• Wildlife: by turkeys and a coyote during drive time; big dang bear scat; coyote scat
  
• Highlights: 20 mile cascades, ridgetop walking, secluded trail

Little River Trail to Cucumber Gap Trail to Jakes Creek Trail

 

• Route: Little River Trail to Cucumber Gap Trail to Jakes Creek Trail
  
• Total Mileage:  5 miles (including side trip to Avent cabin)
  
• Time Table: on the trail at 930, reach Cucumber Gap trail at 1020, Jakes Creek Trail at 1120,  Avent cabin at 1140, leave cabin at 1215, back to car by 1.
  
• Wildlife: Deer, snake
  
• Highlights: beautiful day, Avent cabin
